Business Wire, Oct 19, 2005

SANTA CLARA, Calif. & TAMPA, Fla. -- Hyperion (Nasdaq:HYSL), the global leader in Business Performance Management software, has become the newest corporate member of AACSB International -- the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Through its membership, Hyperion will have the opportunity to participate with AACSB on projects and initiatives, and apply its expertise in optimizing business performance to provide input that can help business schools produce graduates with the skills most desired by today's employers.

"We are delighted to welcome Hyperion as a corporate member," said John Fernandes, president and chief executive officer of Tampa-based AACSB International, which accredits 506 business schools in 28 countries. "Hyperion brings significant prestige and expertise to our membership base that will help deans, faculty, and administrators identify critical issues facing today's students who are tomorrow's future managers."

Godfrey Sullivan, president and chief executive officer at Hyperion, said that the relationship with AACSB is a natural evolution of the company's involvement with business education.

"We look forward to working with AACSB and its member institutions on ways in which Hyperion and Business Performance Management can help strengthen and enrich business education," Sullivan said. "As global businesses demand greater visibility into the factors that drive performance, the theory and practice of Business Performance Management is being recognized as core to a comprehensive business school curriculum. Hyperion is stepping up involvement with schools in response, ensuring that the processes and systems that provide performance visibility are made available to students early in their careers."

According to industry analyst organization IDC, information transparency and performance management initiatives are a top priority for businesses, with the trend beginning in the large global organizations and continuing across businesses of all types and sizes.
