Dow Jones Newsletters Launches New Publication on Flourishing Hedge-Fund Industry; New ``Hedge Fund Trades'' Will Focus on Hedge-Fund Investment, Strategy and Performance

Business Wire, Oct 24, 2005

NEW YORK -- Dow Jones Newsletters today launched a new weekly publication, "Hedge Fund Trades," that covers the thriving hedge-fund industry in the U.S. and around the globe. In the inaugural issue, "Hedge Fund Trades" examines how hedge funds are playing the retail sector; how one manager is putting options at the center of his merger-arbitrage fund; and the reduced scope for trading in international bond spreads.

Intended for hedge-fund managers, prime brokers, institutional investors, mutual-fund managers and other market participants, the newsletter will provide detailed coverage of current hedge-fund transactions, analysis of completed investments, and an overview of opportunities managers are taking advantage of today in order to profit tomorrow.

To provide news that's pertinent to the varied participants in the hedge-fund marketplace, "Hedge Fund Trades" will cover trading in debt, foreign exchange and commodities, as well as stocks. The publication, which will be delivered to subscribers via email every Monday by 7 a.m. ET, also will provide an authoritative news source that accurately captures the trends that shape the market and are of interest to hedge-fund professionals, including fundraising, personnel movement and regulatory news.

"We see 'Hedge Fund Trades' serving an unmet need in the hedge-fund market by focusing its editorial coverage on investments made by hedge funds, fundraising efforts and personnel changes in the industry," said Kenneth Andersen, editorial director, Dow Jones Newsletters. "There is no single source in the market today that has the resources to provide a global perspective on the market for hedge-fund professionals. This newsletter will offer industry leaders breaking news and contextual-trend coverage in a sophisticated, easy-to-read format--delivered directly to their inbox each week."

"Hedge Fund Trades" will leverage the editorial strengths and financial-market acumen of Dow Jones & Company, the publisher of The Wall Street Journal and Barron's, to provide an industry-leading publication that will offer a market-focused approach of the hedge-fund business.

The newsletter will be staffed by a dedicated team of reporters with significant experience covering financial markets. In addition to its editorial resources, "Hedge Fund Trades" also will provide hedge-fund investment data from Dow Jones Hedge Fund Indexes, which currently maintains six strategy-focused indexes covering hedge-fund investing.
