Business Wire, Oct 24, 2005
BELLEVUE, Wash. -- Thumbspeed, a leading developer and publisher of mobile applications, today announced immediate availability for Cingular customers of its Mobile Multimedia Messaging Client (3MC(TM)) for AIM(R), MSN(R) and Yahoo(R). The 3MC mobile instant messaging (IM) client is available for handsets from leading manufacturers including Nokia, Motorola and Sony Ericsson. Thumbspeed's mobile IM client is fully certified by the AOL, Yahoo and Microsoft developer programs. More than 61% of instant messaging users said they use two or more communities, according to an Opinion Research Corporation survey.
Thumbspeed's mobile IM software utilizes a patent-pending, multi-community, tabbed graphical user interface, making it easy for users to login to all of their instant messaging accounts and quickly switch between communities with a single click. In addition, Thumbspeed mobile IM software offers full buddy/contact list support with presence information, fast login, simultaneous conversations across communities, and the ability for users to remain logged-in even when the client is not active.
"Cingular was the perfect operator partner to be the first to launch Thumbspeed's multi-community mobile instant messaging client," said Hank Skorny, president and CEO. "Their extensive testing validated Thumbspeed's mobile IM client as the best combination of user experience, performance and reliability."
Thumbspeed's Mobile Multimedia Messaging Client for AIM, MSN and Yahoo is available immediately for no-cost download via Cingular MEdia Net. Cingular customers with Nokia 6620 or 6230, Motorola V551, V400, V3, V220 or V180, or Sony Ericsson S710a or Z500a handsets can download Thumbspeed's multi-community mobile IM software by selecting Mail & Messaging from the MEdia Net menu, then selecting New Mobile IM. In addition, Cingular customers can win up to $10,000 or a new Xbox 360 when they download Mobile IM to their phone during the Download IM Sweepstakes, from now through December 31st.
