CEOs Tackle Hot-Button Business Issues at Global Conference; TEC International Leaders Conference Draws Chief Executives to Nation's Capital

Business Wire, Oct 24, 2005

SAN DIEGO -- An unprecedented gathering of chief executives and business leaders from around the world will take place on Oct. 26-30, 2005 at the Grand Hyatt Washington Hotel in Washington, D.C.

TEC International, the world's largest CEO membership organization, hosts the 2005 International Leaders Conference, with support from sponsors Bank of America, Administaff and American Management Association.

Hundreds of TEC leaders and members -- including CEOs and key executives of small and medium-sized businesses -- will attend from United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and other countries. TEC-member companies worldwide represent more than $307 billion in annual revenues and have more than 1.8 million employees.

Highlighting the conference schedule are distinguished keynote speakers including:

--Stephen J. Dubner, co-author of the New York Times bestseller, "Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explains the Hidden Side of Everything"

--Jack Canfield, founder and co-creator of the internationally recognized "Chicken Soup for the Soul(R)" brand

--Oren Harari, former senior consultant with the Tom Peters Group and author of the upcoming book, "Breaking from the Pack: How to Compete in a Copycat Economy."

Renowned financier and philanthropist Michael Milken will moderate a panel discussion among business and government leaders on the impact of global and political forces on small and medium-sized businesses.

In addition, TEC members and other attendees will participate in dozens of workshops focusing on a comprehensive range of business topics -- from hiring and recruiting top employees, financing growth and secrets of negotiation, to succession planning and "leading the attention-deficit organization."

"As globalization continues to shrink the world, CEOs are exploring new ways to maintain a competitive advantage," notes Rafael Pastor, TEC Chairman of the Board and CEO. "The 2005 International Leaders Conference offers our Chairs, members and international partners a rare opportunity to meet face-to-face and participate in an actionable exchange about the challenges and opportunities surfacing in the changing global marketplace."
