Business Wire, Oct 25, 2005
NEW HAVEN, Ct. & SAN FRANCISCO -- VideoEgg, Inc., a leading innovator in web-based video publishing solutions, today announced a major step forward in making video blogging simpler, by integrating its signature offering, The VideoEgg Publisher, into Six Apart Ltd.'s TypePad service, currently one of the most popular blog platforms on the market. The VideoEgg Publisher is a Web-based video publishing technology that makes it easy for users to capture, encode, upload, and share online video.
Under the terms of the partnership, the VideoEgg Publisher will immediately be made available to all registered TypePad users free of charge. For the first time, TypePad users can painlessly upload videos to their TypePad blog without the headaches of encoding formats, export settings, incompatible player versions, long uploads, or complicated video software.
"Partnering with Six Apart makes The VideoEgg Publisher available to one of the largest blogging communities on the web, empowering thousands of users and broadening the appeal of video blogging," said Kevin Sladek, co-founder of VideoEgg. "TypePad will provide links to a 'Feature Preview' through which users can see how easy it is to use VideoEgg Publisher to create video posts for their blogs. Moving forward, we'll be rolling out vlogging tools for several Six Apart products, and we look forward to a new wave of users discovering this next frontier in blogging."
For the "Feature Preview," links on the TypePad site direct users to a co-branded page, where users can login to their TypePad accounts, and create and post vlog entries using VideoEgg Publisher. Once users have created a post, they hit submit as they normally would and the post with video is published to their blog.
"Our goal has always been to offer our users the most powerful and easy-to-use blogging tools on the web," said Michael Sippey, vice president of products at Six Apart, the leader in weblogging software and services. "That's why VideoEgg is the ideal partner for us -- we believe The VideoEgg Publisher represents the most advanced video posting technology available, and it has both the technical sophistication and ease-of-use our customers have come to expect."
The VideoEgg Publisher simplifies the complex process of video encoding and posting by reading dozens of video source formats, as well as allowing users to capture video directly into a Website from camcorders, Web cams, and mobile phones. Posted videos are immediately available for viewing online through the Flash-based VideoEgg Player, which does not require external software like Windows Media and QuickTime.
