Silver Bullet's Ranger™ Interface Brings Remote Capture and Remote Deposit Capabilities to BISYS® Document Solutions Imaging Clients

Business Wire, Oct 25, 2005

PENSACOLA, Fla. -- Silver Bullet's Ranger application protocol interface (API) was selected by BISYS Document Solutions to enable businesses of all sizes to take advantage of remote check capture and deposit. Through this new partnership, the Ranger API and BISYS' ISCheck(TM) imaging suite facilitate the capture, processing, deposit and retrieval of check images at branch locations throughout the United States - providing lower volume capture sites with the same proven and affordable check scanner solution used by commercial banks and stores.

Ranger is an industry standard software tool designed to allow item processing applications to run unchanged on a wide variety of check scanner types manufactured by BancTec, Canon, Digital Check, Epson, MagTek, Maverick, NCR, Panini, Seac Banche and Unisys. Imaging customers enjoy the benefits of a single check scanner interface and the freedom to mix and match check scanner types.

Mark Ryan, executive vice president and general manager of BISYS Document Solutions, said, "We are excited about this partnership which will make the newer, decentralized capabilities of imaged item processing more accessible to small businesses and bank branch locations. Now, financial institutions and other organizations can experience the convenience and cost savings of Check 21 without being limited to a specialized or expensive scanner. Silver Bullet's Ranger solution will improve and increase the portability of check imaging for our prospective and existing clients."

"The financial industry is experiencing an evolution in check scanner hardware as manufacturers evolve their products to meet the emerging demands of image exchange users," said Sonia Livingston, chief operating officer of Silver Bullet. "Providing Ranger with the ISCheck suite frees BISYS from the perpetual development cycle required to keep pace with this evolution. More importantly, customers can enjoy the benefits of imaging, no matter what their check volumes are. Everyone can appreciate the security and ease that electronic capture and deposit can provide busy individuals. More importantly, their resources are keenly focused on the products and features that distinguish them in this market."
