Corning Life Sciences Reduces Marketing Costs with TagTeam; Reductions in Print and Fulfillment Costs, Ability to Provide Up-to-Date Literature to All Audiences Realized Since Implementing TagTeam Solution

MAYNARD, Mass. -- Longwood Software today announced that Corning Life Sciences is using TagTeam(R) to meet a business goal of reducing print and fulfillment costs. Thanks to TagTeam's electronic fulfillment capabilities, including Print-on-Demand, Corning Life Sciences has been able to reduce inventory, eliminate the need for a fulfillment house, and keep its print materials current.
Pamela D'Arcangelo, Marketing Communications Manager for Corning Life Sciences in Acton, MA, said, "At Corning Life Sciences we produce a large quantity of literature and are continually updating our materials. We also maintain a large inventory of print materials and as a result, needed a fulfillment house to store and ship it. We searched for a solution that would address these challenges and provide us with a more efficient and cost-effective system. Through this relationship, we've significantly reduced our printing costs, scaled back the amount of work with our fulfillment house, and all literature is current."
A global supplier of scientific laboratory and drug discovery products, Corning Life Sciences has numerous and diverse marketing materials -- over 15,000 items are downloaded, e-mailed or ordered each month. This had been very time-consuming to manage. The TagTeam marketing library has greatly simplified the management and distribution of their marketing materials, including images and literature to be printed, saving D'Arcangelo a significant amount of administrative time.
In addition to D'Arcangelo, the Corning Life Sciences Marketing Communications Department has a webmaster, graphic designer, target marketing manager, and administrator who are engaged in all marketing functions, including managing leads and customer inquiries. They use CRM tools to collect customer data and, prior to using TagTeam, used this system to order literature as well. But they needed something better.
D'Arcangelo continued, "In Marketing Communications, we're always looking for ways to better serve our customers, including our field sales force and distribution partners. Longwood trained our entire marketing and sales team on how to use the system and we've received very positive feedback. Overall, we've increased our productivity because we are now able to electronically manage our literature library."

Instead of simply attaching files to an email, the TagTeam system presents the materials dynamically and visually on the web.
Also new from Longwood Software is ForFile(TM), a web-based service that allows large file transfers. The ForFile service, offering "File Transfer with Smarts," provides users with a convenient, scalable, reliable alternative to burning and shipping CDs, or using FTP sites, for transferring their large files up to 700 MB.
