Business Wire, Oct 3, 2005
THE COLONY, Texas -- Pizza Inn (Nasdaq:PZZI) announced the appointment of Jack Odachowski as its new Vice President of Supply Chain Management. The position signifies a new approach to purchasing and distribution for the 47-year-old chain and its Norco Restaurant Services Company. A former RTM Restaurant Group's top executive, Odachowski has been charged with reducing costs, increasing efficiency and ensuring quality throughout the company's supply chain, from warehouse to point of sale.
"Jack's past experience uniquely qualifies him for this position at Pizza Inn," said Tim Taft, President and CEO of Pizza Inn. "A solid track record of managing multiple franchises and a deep understanding of purchasing and procurement is a crucial element in the strategy to get us back on track. Jack's experience and leadership make him the right man for the job and a perfect fit within our management team. He will be a critical piece of our Building a Better Pizza Inn Strategy, which focuses on the long-term vision of the brand."
Previous to working at RTM, a multi-unit Arby's franchisee, Odachowski served as Director of International Purchasing and Distribution for Wendy's International, where he provided leadership to the international purchasing and distribution function for 300 restaurants in 32 countries. He also supported the procurement and distribution of quality goods at competitive prices to ensure the continuity of supplies to international markets.
"My vision is to have all of our franchisees purchasing their food and supplies from Pizza Inn's distribution arm, Norco Restaurant Services Company, because we are doing a great job of consistently delivering quality products at lower costs," said Odachowski. "Buying from Norco makes our day-to-day business more efficient, and by doing so, we ultimately deliver a better product to our customers."
In his new position, Odachowski will also serve as a member of Pizza Inn's Product Purchasing Committee, comprised of Pizza Inn franchisees and executives assigned the responsibility of identifying and delivering cost and menu opportunities to the chain's franchise system.
Pizza Inn, Inc. is headquartered in The Colony, Texas, along with its distribution division, Norco Restaurant Services Company. Pizza Inn franchises approximately 400 restaurants with annual chain-wide sales of over $160 million.
