Siemens Business Services Furthers Investment in IT Service Management Training; Trasys to Train Siemens Technical Professionals on Updated Information Technology Infrastructure Library Best Practices
Business Wire, Oct 4, 2005
NORWALK, Conn. -- Siemens Business Services, Inc. today announced that as part of its continued investment in ITIL awareness and training, the company has contracted Trasys to facilitate the delivery of classroom and e-learning instruction on updated ITIL best practices to all of its IT service management professionals.
The expanded training is a key part of Siemens Business Services' ongoing adoption of ITIL standards into its global outsourcing delivery framework. Overseeing the initiative is the company's ITIL Alignment Program, a group dedicated to managing ITIL adoption, awareness, training and certification.
"SBS remains committed to providing our clients with the highest level of IT service management through ongoing training and implementation of industry recognized guidelines for quality," said Michael Somers, VP of Project Management Services and Quality for Siemens Business Services, Inc. "SBS was an early adopter and promoter of the best practices defined by the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), and as our investment in ITIL continues, we look forward to working with Trasys to further develop our expertise in IT service management delivery."
Trasys will be helping Siemens optimize their investment in ITIL training by tailoring their program to Siemens requirements and offering several training options including classroom sessions, self-paced e-learning among peers, and virtual instruction. The training will include all seven ITIL books, each devoted to a single practice area including: service support, service delivery, planning to implement service management, security management, ICT (information and communications technology) infrastructure management, application management and the business perspective.
Patrick Foley, Trasys Chief Operating Officer, said, "Trasys has provided IT staffing and consulting services to Siemens in the past, and we are thrilled to have been awarded this contract for ITIL training. Trasys has top level, certified ITIL trainers ready to work with Siemens. More and more companies are following ITIL protocol with strong results, and we look forward to helping Siemens in their ongoing initiative to make great strides with ITIL."
Developed in England by the British Government, ITIL provides a standard framework for IT Service management work processes drawn from public and private companies around the world. Growing in popularity in the U.S., ITIL is widely embraced in Europe, Asia and worldwide by hundreds of the world's most respected corporations.
Trasys utilizes an ITIL training curriculum developed by ITpreneurs, a leading content company in the IT best practices area, and ITpreneurs certified instructors from Agilita, a service management consulting company. Trasys and ITpreneurs have a formal partnership and have provided ITIL training to major companies in the past.
