Business Wire, Oct 4, 2005
AUSTIN, Texas -- General Bandwidth, a leading Voice over IP equipment manufacturer enabling rapid deployment and new service revenue generation over broadband networks, announces that Integra Telecom, Inc., an integrated communications carrier offering facilities-based voice and data telecommunications services, has selected the G6(R) Universal Media Gateway for deployment of packet voice services in multiple markets.
"Our customers look to Integra to invest in communications technologies that will help them compete today and into the future," said John Nee, Vice President of Marketing for Integra Telecom. "As we look ahead to the emerging telecom and data needs of our small and mid-sized business customers, we see a great deal of value in the General Bandwidth G6 platform. In addition, its scalability and proven reliability meet our exacting standards."
"As our network keeps up with our company's rapid growth and expansion, we chose General Bandwidth's best of breed G6 platform not only for its scalability and market-proven reliability, but also because of its universal switching capability," said Dave Bennett, VP of Network Engineering.
Integra plans to use the G6 platform to deliver dynamic T1 services to their business customers, enabling the sharing of high quality voice and data on the same facility in addition to reducing transport and network equipment costs.
"We are happy to partner with Integra as they progress forward on their network and services migration path," said Charles Vogt, president and chief executive officer of General Bandwidth. "Competitive providers like Integra are quickly discovering that the access, trunking, and reverse gateway features of the G6 platform enable them to bring immediate revenues from new services as well as to cost-effectively utilize a single universal gateway that serves all of their network migration needs."
