Sun Country Airlines Announces Service to Cabo San Lucas
Business Wire, Oct 5, 2005
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Sun Country Airlines today announced the addition of Los Cabos, Mexico to its seasonal schedule. The airline's weekly service to Los Cabos begins November 13th. This will be the 8th destination in Mexico serviced by Sun Country.
The addition of Los Cabos was in direct response to the growing popularity of the destination. Nearly half a million people visit the region annually, contributing to the record-breaking number of total tourists Mexico
expects to welcome this year. Los Cabos' popularity is attributed to the mix of both modern and authentic Mexican attractions, most notably the area's world-class golf courses and pristine beaches.
"Los Cabos is a great addition to our flight schedule given its growing popularity as well as the success of our other Mexican destinations," said Jim Olsen, COO of Sun Country.
Located on the southern tip of Baja California, Los Cabos contains Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, two towns connected by a 21-mile corridor.
Sun Country travels to eight destinations in Mexico throughout the winter season. The airline will provide seasonal service to other international destinations, such as Jamaica and the Caribbean starting in early winter.
Sun Country Airlines is a low cost, low fare carrier based in St. Paul, MN. Sun Country, a privately held company, is following a conservative growth plan which will increase the frequency to its popular destinations such as Phoenix, Dallas, Los Angeles, Orlando, Ft. Myers, Denver and Las Vegas. For a complete list of destinations and more information, please visit Sun Country's website at suncountry.com.
