Highlights from the October 4 Featured Expert column by Bill Martin and Matt Ragas include:

Willis Group Rises On Upgrade, Number Hike

Shares of insurance broker Willis Group (NYSE:WSH) are moving 2.8% higher to $38.15 this morning, boosted by an upgrade by Keefe, Bruyette & Woods. Thanks to optimism about insurance pricing in the wake of the recent hurricanes, WSH shares are now 18% above their summer lows.

Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, which is known for its focus on financial services, did warn that ``cutthroat competition`` among brokers that has been seen in recent quarters is continuing, but it thinks that some of the pressure may be curbed by recent developments.

Bill Martin and Matt Ragas have been very pleased with the recent performance of WSH, as it validates the very bullish stance they took on the stock in early August when it was trading in the low $30s. More recently, they booked some partial profits in early September with a sale at $36.98 per share.
