Logitech Unveils PlayGear GamePack Media Carrier for PSP; Protective Case Holds 6 UMDs, 3 Memory Sticks, Earbuds
Business Wire, Sept 1, 2005
FREMONT, Calif. -- More games, more movies, more music -- no problem. Logitech (SWX:LOGN) (NASDAQ:LOGI) today extended the company's popular family of gear for the PSP(TM) (PlayStation(R)Portable) system by introducing the Logitech(R) PlayGear GamePack(TM) media carrier, a versatile carrying case for transporting up to six Universal Media Discs (UMD(TM)) and three Memory Stick(TM) media cards.
The Logitech PlayGear GamePack media carrier makes it easy to carry and protect the growing number of games and movies available for the system, while also matching the sophisticated styling of the PSP. To date, Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. has shipped more than five million PSP devices worldwide.
"With all of our PSP gear, we're aiming to fulfill a variety of needs for PSP owners," said Ruben Mookerjee, Logitech's director of product marketing for interactive entertainment. "The PlayGear GamePack makes it easy and safe to carry a wide selection of games, music, and movies for any outing, while it also reflects the design of PSP with its shape and colors."
The Logitech PlayGear GamePack media carrier can hold four UMDs in two double-sided, hinged hard sleeves, making it easy to flip through and find the game or movie of choice. It also features three fixed slots to hold Memory Sticks. There is additional compartment space large enough to accommodate two more UMD discs or some types of compact ear buds, including the Logitech(R) PlayGear Stealth(TM) earphones.
The media carrier is made of a scratch-resistant durable casing shaped to match the iconic PSP design. Its black surface and chrome-colored accent strip complement the PSP's color scheme.
Pricing and Availability
The Logitech(R) PlayGear GamePack(TM) will be available in the U.S. beginning in November at retailers and online at www.logitech.com. The suggested retail price is $14.99 in the U.S.
