MoneyGram Offers No-Fee Service To Send Donations To Red Cross For Hurricane Katrina Victims

MINNEAPOLIS -- To aid victims of Hurricane Katrina, MoneyGram is making its money transfer network in the U.S. available for sending donations to the American Red Cross for disaster relief on the Gulf Coast. For the next 30 days, MoneyGram will waive its fees for sending contributions to the Red Cross disaster relief fund.
"We extend our deepest sympathies to everyone touched by this disaster on our shores," said Phil Milne, chief executive officer and president of MoneyGram International, Inc. "We hope we can help by opening our network and expediting the flow of funds for relief to the Red Cross. In addition, MoneyGram will make a contribution of $125,000 to the Red Cross for hurricane victims."
To make a no-fee donation to the Red Cross, go to a MoneyGram agent location and tell the agent that you wish to send a donation for Hurricane Katrina Relief to the Red Cross through MoneyGram's ExpressPayment service, receive code 3825. Or, make an on-line donation by going to the MoneyGram eMoney Transfer site at www.moneygram.com. Click on "Send Money On-line," choose ExpresssPayment then select Hurricane Katrina Relief, receive code 3825. Save the receipt for proof of the charitable contribution.
