Robert Wiseman Dairies Milks Kofax Distributed Capture System to Manage Information from Remote Facilities
Business Wire, Sept 13, 2005
IRVINE, Calif. -- Ascent Capture(R) Solution Delivers Improved Cash Flow, Reduced Operational Costs, Better Managed Inventory, Tighter Supplier Relationships and Increased Customer Satisfaction Levels
E[acute accent]Kofax (LSE:DCM), the world's largest information capture vendor, today announced a key installation with Robert Wiseman Dairies, one of the United Kingdom's leading processors and providers of fresh milk to supermarkets and stores. E[acute accent]Robert Wiseman Dairies retains a large volume of paper-based documents, including proof of deliveries, supplier responses, various correspondence, vendor invoices and credit notes. With the dairies and depots individually producing upward of 5,000 pages of paper and electronic documents per month, Robert Wiseman Dairies needed a distributed capture solution that would enable users to take documents from their filing cabinets, or off their networked servers, and index, retrieve and integrate them with the central business system at the Glasgow, Scotland head office. E[acute accent]Kofax Certified Solution Provider (CSP) Logicalis worked with Robert Wiseman Dairies to help streamline the distributed information needs to the company's five diaries and 13 distribution depots. The recommended Kofax Ascent Capture(R) system automatically captures the information on documents and forms, and delivers reliable, retrievable information into business applications and databases. E[acute accent]The documents are scanned using a range of Kodak scanners, captured using the Kofax Ascent(R) platform, and delivered to an IBM content management system that is running on IBM i-series (AS/400) servers. This system integrates with the company's core ERP software, Movex, which enables users to process documents from their desktop using all the software solutions in a simple environment. E[acute accent]"The Kofax Ascent platform provides an environment where any of the remote dairies or depots can process documents in a secure manner," said Robert Wiseman Dairies' Senior Analyst Programmer Simon Wood. "They are now indexed properly and shared with the home office." E[acute accent]"Our company has an enviable record of helping companies make overall financial gains and reduce the burden of administration," said Anthony Macciola, vice president of product management at Kofax. "The overall net result is that Robert Wiseman Dairies has improved cash flow through better control over accounts payables, increased customer satisfaction levels through faster responsiveness, established tighter relationships with their suppliers and dramatically reduced operational costs through the automation of business processes." E[acute accent]Robert Wiseman Dairies attests much of its growth to its ability to provide superior customer care and account management - qualities which have been greatly enhanced by the new fast and efficient Ascent-based information capture system. The company is expecting a significant ROI within a year, a testament to why Ascent Capture is the most popular information capture application worldwide. E[acute accent]"Lower costs and faster business processes that provide better access to information and more complete records - you can't beat that," said Wood.
