Business Wire, Sept 13, 2005
OAKLAND, Calif. -- AmberPoint, the leading provider of service-oriented architecture (SOA) management solutions, today announced support for version 6.0 of IBM's market-leading Internet infrastructure software, WebSphere Application Server. With this integration, AmberPoint customers can better and more completely manage flexible, standards-based IT infrastructures built on WebSphere Application Server 6.0.
AmberPoint's integration with IBM WebSphere Application Server 6.0 results in enhanced capabilities for managing complex service-oriented systems. For example, AmberPoint now automatically discovers services and displays interdependencies across all the services in the SOA environment, including those running in WebSphere containers. AmberPoint dashboards depict these services graphically, helping organizations to understand the impact of system changes and to better perform root-cause analysis.
AmberPoint, an IBM Advanced Partner, has a long-standing relationship with IBM, a partnership that has resulted in many customers across a variety of industries. Additionally, AmberPoint has a worldwide reseller agreement with IBM Global Services, the world's largest consulting organization.
"Building applications based on SOA calls for dependable field-tested solutions," said Carmen Suarez, Systems Support Manager at Miami-Dade County. "We chose the combination of WebSphere and AmberPoint for their performance, their integrated capabilities and their demonstrated ability to deliver on the promise of SOA. AmberPoint's ongoing support for WebSphere enables us to more quickly move forward in our adoption of service-oriented systems."
The new version of IBM WebSphere Application Server includes broad support for SOA industry standards. As a result of their shared commitment to industry standards, AmberPoint and WebSphere include support for J2EE 1.4 and SDK 1.4.2; JSR 109; JAX-RPC; UDDI v3; WS-Security from OASIS; and others.
"IBM's commitment to industry standards is a benefit our joint customers and is right in line with AmberPoint's vision," said John Hubinger, CEO of AmberPoint. "The combination of AmberPoint and WebSphere Application Server 6 allows our joint customers to bring their Web services into production with confidence and more easily implement and manage service-oriented systems."
AmberPoint provides the management layer that is critical for realizing the return on investment from distributed, heterogeneous service-oriented systems. AmberPoint's solutions provide comprehensive management and security capabilities without requiring any changes to the services themselves.
