CDW's Sales Increase 13.8 Percent in August 2005; Average Daily Sales Increase 8.9 Percent in August 2005

VERNON HILLS, Ill. -- CDW Corporation (NASDAQ:CDWC), a leading provider of technology products and services to business, government and education, today announced August 2005 sales were $576.8 million, an increase of 13.8 percent compared to August 2004 sales of $506.7 million. Average daily sales for August 2005 were $25.076 million, an increase of 8.9 percent compared to average daily sales of $23.030 million for August 2004. There were 23 billing days in August 2005 and 22 billing days in August 2004. E[acute accent]The corporate and public sector segments both grew in August 2005. Within the public sector segment, average daily sales grew in the state and local government, education, and healthcare channels, while average daily sales in the federal government channel were flat compared to the prior year. The federal government's fiscal year ends in September. E[acute accent]Product categories that achieved year-over-year double-digit unit volume growth for the month on an average daily basis included desktop CPUs, data storage, software, printers, and video. E[acute accent]The Company plans to announce September 2005 sales and third quarter earnings on Tuesday, October 18, 2005. September 2004 had 21 billing days and September 2005 will have 21 billing days.
