Nextance to Share Industry Best Practices at SAP Forum; Company Lends Expertise on Driving Supplier Performance with Contract Management
Business Wire, Sept 13, 2005
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- Nextance Inc., the solutions provider setting the standard for enterprise contract management, today announced it will speak at the Supply Chain Management & Product Lifecycle Management Forum hosted by the Americas' SAP Users' Group (ASUG) in Atlanta, Georgia, on September 18-21, 2005. As a thought-leader in its industry, Nextance will reveal best practices in contract management to optimize and manage supply chains.
Entitled "Addressing Weaknesses in the Supply Chain with Contract Performance Management," the Nextance presentation shows how contract management and contract performance analysis are critical to sourcing and procurement initiatives designed to improve the supply chain. By actively managing and enforcing contractual commitments, companies can accelerate time-to-savings from negotiation to implementation as well as ensure that price, quality and service level performance all meet the negotiated terms.
"Progressive procurement organizations continue to make greater contributions to the corporate bottom line, but their current systems can't follow-through and ensure complete realization of their achievements," explained Kyle Bowker, president and chief executive officer of Nextance. "Negotiated prices and process improvements often don't translate into anything, because weak post-bid procedures and poor measurement of internal and supplier performance cancel out those savings and efficiency gains, resulting in savings leakage. As a key Nextance partner, SAP recognizes our critical role in solving that challenge through enterprise contract management."
The Nextance presentation demonstrates: (1) how to develop more advanced spend analysis and process controls by gaining complete visibility into contract terms, expiration dates, service level obligations and quality agreements; (2) how to uncover financial risk and liability exposure hidden within contractual language, and proactively address risks before auditors; and (3) how to integrate contractual terms and conditions with transactional data captured by SAP for a holistic view of all contracts and contract portfolios, ensuring proper pricing, maximizing discounts and rebates, and reducing penalties and charge-backs.
With over 10 years of experience in sourcing and technology, Jason Rushin is a senior product marketing manager at Nextance and will be presenting at the ASUG forum. Rushin was previously a consulting manager at Accenture, responsible for strategic sourcing teams at a major energy company with $1.6B in total spend as well as leading supply chain opportunities for other large enterprises with more than $400M in procurement contracts. Rushin earned his BS from University of Pittsburgh and his MBA from Carnegie Mellon University.
The Nextance presentation will be held at 2:40 p.m. and 3:50 p.m. Eastern on September 19. For more information, please visit www.nextance.com/events.shtml.
