ADERANT to Support Microsoft Workflow Initiative; ADERANT Joins Microsoft's Windows Workflow Foundation Technology Adoption Program to Bring Next-Generation Capabilities to Professional Services Organizations
Business Wire, Sept 14, 2005
LOS ANGELES -- ADERANT, a global provider of business and financial management software for professional services organizations, today announced at the Microsoft Professional Developers Conference 2005 that it will participate in Microsoft's Technology Adoption Program (TAP) for Windows Workflow Foundation and will embed the new capability in the underlying technology architecture of its products.
Microsoft Windows Workflow Foundation is a core component of WinFX and includes a designer for Visual Studio .NET that enables companies to easily define and use workflows. ADERANT will support the new capability in its ADERANT Back Office (formerly CMS.Net), ADERANT Front Office, and ADERANT Executive Office product suites.
The need for robust workflow solutions for the professional services market, especially law firms, has been growing. Increasingly, law firms are leveraging workflow to automate paper-based business processes to boost their efficiency and reduce costs. The technology is also being tapped by large firms to reduce their exposure to risk and lower their malpractice insurance premiums by ensuring there are no conflicts when taking on new clients and matters. Additionally, workflow is being used to address compliance issues by helping firms demonstrate that they have -- and follow -- standardized, repeatable business processes.
"We are very pleased to have ADERANT as part of our Technology Adoption Program for Windows Workflow Foundation," said Scott Woodgate, Group Product Manager, Connected Systems Division for Microsoft Corp. "ADERANT's efforts to tailor workflow solutions built on Windows Workflow Foundation will help ensure that law, accounting, and other professional services firms increase their competitive advantage."
"Microsoft Windows Workflow Foundation reflects our belief that workflow should be a core capability of any business application, which is why it will be a key influence in our long-term product development strategy," said David Weber, Vice President of Products for ADERANT. "Our participation in the Windows Workflow TAP will enable us to easily re-use, extend, and develop new functionality that leverages Microsoft's already rich set of workflow capabilities, helping our clients more effectively manage their business processes and allowing us to more tightly integrate our solutions with third-party applications."
Enhanced Customization and Easier Integration
Microsoft Windows Workflow Foundation will enable ADERANT to deliver highly flexible and customizable business solutions to its clients. Windows Workflow Foundation's common rules infrastructure will enable ADERANT to easily customize business functions to better support the needs of its clients as well as minimize the need to hard code business logic within its applications.
Windows Workflow Foundation will also leverage the web services capabilities of the Microsoft .NET framework, which ADERANT has already made a core element of its technology architecture. This will allow ADERANT to natively workflow-enable each of its applications as well as ensure they can easily interact with other software packages.
Simplified Implementation and Management
ADERANT will embed Windows Workflow Foundation into its existing technology framework, which will greatly simplify the implementation and ongoing management of workflow capabilities for its clients. The tight integration will enable ADERANT to deploy and manage workflow functionality using the same repository as its existing products.
