Steve Iverson Named One of San Diego's '40 Under Forty'

Business Wire, Sept 15, 2005

SAN DIEGO -- Tomorrow afternoon, Steve Iverson will join 39 other young business and civic leaders at the San Diego Convention Center as they are recognized for their achievements during the Sixth Annual '40 Under Forty' Awards sponsored by San Diego Metropolitan Magazine.

"I am excited to have been selected for this prestigious award," said Iverson. "This year's 40 are extraordinary people, and to be among them is an honor."

Iverson is president and CEO of San Diego-based Streamload, a leading provider of online digital media services. In 1998, he developed a new and innovative technology for his undergraduate thesis while studying adaptive data compression algorithms. Just months after graduation, Iverson founded Streamload with the hopes of using this technology to provide an online service which would allow users to transfer large digital files such as music, photos and videos.

Streamload has grown rapidly over the years, currently serving well over 20,000 paid subscribers and managing more than 425 terabytes of data. Streamload affords users of any proficiency the means to centrally store, organize, access and share their entire media collection. It offers people the freedom and tools to share their home videos and photos in full-quality original formats and access their music, TV and movie recordings from any Internet-connected device using a single online service. The company remains at the forefront of the field by continuing to innovate and add to Streamload's services.

Iverson also strives to maintain Streamload as an active entity in the community, and the company has donated its services to a number of organizations and causes. During the 2004 holiday season, Streamload contributed its technology to Operation Video Care Package, which allowed military families to send video messages to their loved ones overseas.

"The strength and diversity of this year's honorees is striking and inspiring," said Gary Shaw, Publisher of San Diego Metropolitan Magazine. "San Diego is fortunate to have so many young business leaders who are also active in the community."

Since 1999, San Diego Metropolitan Magazine annually selects 40 San Diegans, all under the age of 40, for their extreme dedication and commitment to their jobs and communities. This year's finalists will be recognized at a luncheon benefiting Becky's House, the YWCA's transitional housing program for victims of domestic violence and their children.
