PerkinElmer Provides Funds for Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts

--Donates $100,000 to American Red Cross
--Provides $50,000 Employee Donation Match
PerkinElmer (NYSE: PKI) today announced that on behalf of its employees around the world it would provide $100,000 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund for relief efforts in New Orleans and the surrounding areas affected by Hurricane Katrina. The Company will also match employee donations up to $50,000.
"The employees of PerkinElmer express their deepest sympathy and condolences to all those affected by the hurricane that struck the Gulf Coast area of the United States," said Gregory L. Summe, Chairman and CEO of the company. "We are hopeful that this contribution can provide much needed food, water, medicines and other critical relief throughout the affected areas. We will continue working with The American Red Cross and other charitable relief partners to assess the need for our additional support in terms of medical instrumentation or other product donations. I am proud to know that numerous PerkinElmer employees around the world are also donating their personal funds to the relief efforts of this terrible tragedy," added Summe.
