Wisconsin Piggly Wiggly and Dick's Supermarkets Stores Team With The American Red Cross to Collect Disaster Funds

Business Wire, Sept 2, 2005

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. -- Fresh Brands, Inc. (NASDAQ:FRSH) today launched a program at all Piggly Wiggly and Dick's Supermarkets grocery stores in Wisconsin to raise relief funds for The American Red Cross to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina and the recent tornadoes in Wisconsin.

Starting Friday, Sept. 2, customers will have the opportunity to make donations of $1, $5 or any amount desired. And because the stores will be accepting donations throughout the coming month or as long as the need exists, customers will have many opportunities to give.

In partnership with its independent storeowners and vendors, Fresh Brands will also make a $100,000 donation to The American Red Cross for the victims in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi and Wisconsin.

"We know there are many people closely following the disaster relief effort who want to help, but don't necessarily know how to get involved," said Louis E. Stinebaugh, president of Fresh Brands, Inc. "That's why we're providing an easy way for everyone to make donations to aid our friends to the south and our neighbors right here in Wisconsin. Our hearts go out to these victims, but we know with everyone's help we can make a difference."
