Business Wire, Sept 2, 2005

BATON ROUGE, La. -- Edgen Corporation announced today that the telephone and data communications at its corporate, sales and distribution offices located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana are temporarily out of service as a result of the effects of Hurricane Katrina.

Dan J. O'Leary, President and Chief Executive Officer, said "The Company is fully functional and operational at this time with the exception of the telephone and data communications to and from our offices in Louisiana. We are working closely with our major communication providers to better understand when the services will be fully restored and will notify all of our customers and suppliers once the communications are restored. At the same time, we are fortunate that we have been able to account for all of our employees and they are safe."

The Company is asking its customers and suppliers who are unable to contact the Louisiana offices to contact any of the Company's other fifteen locations across the country, or specifically, one of its Houston locations at 1-713-947-7979 or 1-713-466-1600.
