Smart City Formalizes Relationship with Microsoft Events; Relationship Will Ensure Smart City Continues to Meet Microsoft Events' Growing Technology Needs

Business Wire, Sept 21, 2005

LAS VEGAS -- Smart City, Las Vegas-based provider of technology services, has entered into a business associate agreement with the Microsoft event technology team to benefit Microsoft's business and trade events at convention centers nationwide that utilize Smart City technology.

For many years, company officials said, Smart City and the Microsoft Events team have worked together to create some of the country's premier high-tech conventions, such as TechEd, which showcases the latest in Microsoft technology. In 2004, Smart City and Microsoft Events teamed up with several other technology industry leaders to implement a variety of solutions to ensure seamless network availability for convention attendees.

"What this means for the end user is when you attend a Microsoft trade show or other event at one of our convention centers, you can rest assured that you will be using the most secure and reliable technology available in the industry," said Paul Ashley, president of Smart City. "We're always willing to develop products on our networks that will ensure the greatest protection for our end users. It's a pleasure to work with the Microsoft event technology team and other partners on their innovative projects. Our goal with this agreement is to guarantee that Microsoft trade shows always receive the red carpet treatment over Smart City networks."

To date, Ashley said, the shows that Microsoft and Smart City have produced together have employed thousands of workstations, tens of thousands of wireless connections and miles of cabling to provide extraordinary technology experiences for leading industry professionals.

According to David Langford, vice president of technology for Smart City, "The combination of forces in these projects is absolutely amazing. The combined skills of the individuals from each respective partner company create the success of each event. These efforts are unparalleled in the industry. We're extremely happy to formalize this relationship with the Microsoft events technology team to make sure our mutual customers have peak technology experiences for their events."
