NuVasive, Inc. Tops Deloitte's San Diego Technology Fast 50 Ranking of Fastest-Growing Technology Companies, with 73,752% Growth Over Five Years

SAN DIEGO -- NuVasive, Inc., a medical device company specializing on the design, development, and marketing of products for the surgical treatment of spine disorders, tops the list of the fastest growing technology companies in the San Diego area as recognized by Deloitte & Touche LLP. An awards event was held on September 22nd at the Estancia Hotel & Spa in San Diego. The "San Diego Technology Fast 50" annual award program ranks technology companies located in San Diego by revenue growth over the most recent five year period.

"The past five years have been a rollercoaster ride for technology companies," said Helen Adams, Partner in the Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) Group at Deloitte based in San Diego. "The companies on the Deloitte San Diego Technology Fast 50 have shown they can prosper in challenging economies and marketplaces. Deloitte is pleased to recognize their achievements."

Winners are selected based on percentage revenue growth over five years from 2000 to 2004. To be considered, Technology Fast 50 entrants must: have operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 2000 and at least $1,000,000 in 2004; be headquartered in San Diego; be a "technology company," defined as a company that owns proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of its operating revenues; or devotes a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology.
