Parvus Demos New Alpha Systems, Rugged Computing Hardware Platforms for Mobile Digital Video Recording, Vehicle Tracking, Communication and Data Processing

Business Wire, Sept 27, 2005

DALLAS -- AlphaDVR(TM), AlphaAVL(TM), and AlphaVDS(TM) Standardized Embedded Systems from Parvus/Eurotech Displayed at International Transportation Expo

Parvus Corp. today unveiled its new Alpha family of rugged mobile computing devices at the APTA International Public Transportation Expo, booth #5348. Part of Parvus' new Mobile Information Infrastructure (M2i(TM)) solution, the AlphaDVR(TM), AlphaAVL(TM) and AlphaVDS(TM) are modular, highly configurable embedded computers pre-qualified to bus and train environmental standards and compatible with all major embedded and real-time operating systems (RTOS).

Enabling bus, rail, and other commercial vehicle suppliers and authorities to add wireless, GPS, cellular, video encoding, data acquisition, and vehicle diagnostics functionality, the Alpha series are available in three primary configurations to support on-vehicle (1) digital video recording (DVR), (2) automatic vehicle location (AVL) and communication, and (3) general-purpose vehicular data processing/server (VDS) applications. Each unit is reliably designed to withstand the shock, vibration, humidity, extreme temperatures (-25 C/ 70 C) and power requirements experienced on board vehicles, while providing robust and highly flexible Intel/AMD-based computing capabilities to support customer supplied software.
