Solid Information Technology Attracts New Board Members; Fortifies Marketing and Sales; TIBCO Co-Founder and Chordiant International President Round Out Board; New Vice President of Marketing and Vice President of Sales Take Charge

CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Solid Information Technology, maker of data management software for today's real-time applications, today announced two new Board members as well as new appointments to the positions of Vice President of Marketing and Business Development and Vice President of Sales.

The new Directors joining Solid's Board are Rick Tavan, former EVP and Founding Team Member at TIBCO Software, and Allen Swann, former President of International Chordiant Inc. Paola Lubet was appointed Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, and Jack Peters was appointed Vice President of Sales, Americas. Lubet and Peters both come from data management backgrounds and have track records of gearing up marketing and sales organizations for rapid growth at both established and emerging companies.

In related news, Jussi Harvela has resigned from his position at Solid after 12 years of service, and has decided also to withdraw from Solid's Board in order to spend more time with his family and to be closer to his native Finland. Harvela will remain a shareholder and will be available to the company as a consultant.

New Hires Bring Proven Results

Paola Lubet -- Lubet is a marketing veteran of Oracle Corporation, PeopleSoft and Apple Computers, and of emerging companies such as Confluent (acquired by Oblix) and Blue Pumpkin Software (acquired by Witness Systems). She has nearly two decades of experience marketing software infrastructure and enterprise applications, as well as a track record of leading triple-digit revenue growth.

Jack Peters -- Peters has built his career in high-tech sales, starting at Teradata and AT&T/NCR before moving on to a string of successful start-ups including Sagent Technology (acquired by Group 1) and Confluent Software (acquired by Oblix). Peters is recognized for leading sales efforts to win large accounts like Cisco, Visa, Merrill Lynch, Hartford, Citi and other brand-name companies.

Rick Tavan -- Tavan was a Founding Team Member of TIBCO Software, where his most recent role was Executive VP of Engineering and Operations. Prior to TIBCO, Tavan directed engineering efforts at 3Com Corporation, and helped to develop the world's first LAN-based file servers while at Masstor Systems Corporation.

Allen Swann -- Swann met Alain Couder years ago at Oracle, where Swann was UK Sales Director for Oracle UK. Swann later brought his international talents to Chordiant, where he was President of the International division that delivered 75% of Chordiant's quarterly revenues and landed several multi-million dollar software contracts.
