Alternative Technology to Contribute Portion of September Sales to Aid Victims of Hurricane Katrina; Other Companies and Individuals are Encouraged to Respond
Business Wire, Sept 6, 2005
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Alternative Technology, a specialty distributor based in Englewood, Colorado, announced that it will be contributing a portion of its September sales, and certain outdoor wireless products to aid emergency responders, to the American Red Cross 2005 Hurricane Relief Fund to assist victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Bill Botti, President and COO of Alternative Technology, said: "Hurricane Katrina has left a path of devastation that has not left anyone in its path unharmed. In times such as these, it is everyone's responsibility to pitch in and contribute to the relief efforts. Alternative Technology is doing several things to aid the relief efforts including matching employee contributions, contributing a percentage of gross profit from September's sales, and also donating outdoor wireless solutions from Rajant."
Alternative Technology will be donating 2% of its gross profit from the month of September, and 10% of all GP from sales on its eStore portal. Wireless solutions from Rajant (available through Alternative Technology) will also be donated. Rajant's battery-operated solutions will enable the Red Cross to share vital information with the emergency responders and other relief groups despite a lack of networking infrastructure. In addition to its other efforts, Alternative Technology will also match, dollar for dollar, employee contributions to the American Red Cross 2005 Hurricane Relief Fund.
