IVAX Contributing $500,000 To Victims Of Hurricane Katrina

MIAMI -- IVAX Corporation (AMEX:IVX) (LSE:IVX.L) (WSE:IVX) announced today that it will donate $500,000 in cash and pharmaceutical products to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. IVAX' cash contribution will be made to the Salvation Army. IVAX' pharmaceutical product contribution will be made in collaboration with five major pharmacy chains to provide pharmaceutical products at no cost to those individuals living in the areas affected by Hurricane Katrina who are in need and have no prescription drug coverage. In addition, IVAX has been and will continue to donate pharmaceutical products to other customers in the affected areas.
