Fit, Form and Function: Logitech Introduces Two Bluetooth Headsets with Compact Designs and Advanced Features; Logitech Mobile Traveller Headset Includes Patent-Pending Logitech WindStop Technology
Business Wire, Sept 7, 2005
FREMONT, Calif. -- Logitech (SWX:LOGN) (NASDAQ:LOGI), a leading provider of peripherals with Bluetooth(R) wireless technology, today expanded its award-winning line of mobile phone headsets with the introduction of two new compact Bluetooth mobile phone headsets: the Logitech(R) Mobile Traveller(TM) Headset and the Logitech(R) Mobile Express Headset. Both headsets feature a very small form factor and use advanced Bluetooth 1.2 technology, which includes Adaptive Frequency Hopping (AFH) technology to reduce interference. The Mobile Traveller headset also includes the company's patent-pending WindStop(TM) technology, to ensure clear conversations even in windy conditions.
"As the market for Bluetooth mobile phone headsets continues its dramatic growth, headsets must continue to deliver safety and convenience benefits while also including stylish designs and additional features to appeal to the tastes of mainstream customers," said Jef Holove, director of product marketing for Logitech's Entertainment and Communications Business Unit. "Logitech's new Mobile Traveller and Mobile Express headsets not only free people from the hassle of wires, but offer more distinct advantages. Those seeking a sophisticated design and advanced technology, like WindStop, will appreciate the Mobile Traveller headset. For people looking for a Bluetooth headset that looks cool and has all the essential features, at a great value, the Mobile Express headset is the easy choice."
Logitech Mobile Traveller Headset
The Mobile Traveller Headset features a compact design that is polished silver in color with chrome-colored accents. The headset is lightweight -- weighing only 0.6 ounces. It features a unique, comfortable over-ear design, with a cushioned ear pad that rests on the outer ear instead of inside it, and an over-ear soft rubber earpiece, which comfortably and securely wraps around the ear. Logitech's flip clip design makes it quick and easy to flip the earpiece to fit either ear.
Besides being compact and comfortable, this headset also includes Logitech's patent-pending WindStop technology. Wind noise is a major problem for mobile phones -- even a car's air conditioning fan can cause microphone interference. WindStop technology is an innovation that surrounds the microphone with an acoustical barrier to filter the disruptive effects of wind noise, enabling clear conversations in adverse conditions. WindStop not only offers wind-noise reduction that is superior to expensive DSP (digital signal processor) solutions, but does so without adding weight or reducing battery life.
The Mobile Traveller headset offers seven hours of continuous talk time and up to 300 hours of standby time. The product includes a call/answer button located directly on the headset, so people can conduct calls without having to pick up the handset. The Logitech Mobile Traveller Headset also supports several features built into many mobile phones, such as voice dialing, three-way calling, and mute. The Logitech Mobile Traveller Headset will be available in September in U.S. and European retail stores and online at www.logitech.com. The Logitech Mobile Traveller Headset has a suggested U.S. retail price of $79.99.
Mobile Express Headset
The Logitech Mobile Express Headset features a fashionable, compact design at a very affordable price. The headset is also very lightweight -- weighing just 0.6 ounces. It provides a secure and comfortable fit with its adjustable wrap-around earpiece and small in-ear speaker. The headset can be worn on either the left or right ear. Smoke in color with silver accents, the headset features a call/answer button located directly on the side of the headset, so people can accept calls without having to pick up the handset.
The Logitech Mobile Express Headset offers four hours of continuous talk time and up to 110 hours of standby time. It also supports several features built into many mobile phones, such as voice dialing, three-way calling, and mute. The Logitech Mobile Express Headset will be available in October in U.S. and European retail stores and online at www.logitech.com. The Logitech Mobile Express Headset has a suggested U.S. retail price of $49.99.
