Business Wire, Sept 7, 2005

DUBLIN, Ireland & WALTHAM, Mass. -- IONA(R) Technologies (NASDAQ: IONA), a world leader in high-performance integration solutions for mission-critical IT environments, today announced the launch of a three-part Webcast series that will provide participants a forum to help better understand the role of Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) technology in successful Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) deployments. The three-part series covers topics related to the economic benefit of SOA, the role of mainframe technology in SOA, and how SOA can benefit a telecom environment. The series begins September 14, 2005 and runs through November 16, 2005.

On September 14, September 27, October 5 and November 2, 2005, IONA presents "An Incremental Approach to SOA." Attendees of this Webcast can learn from Pat Walsh, director of product marketing, IONA and Mark Bidgood, senior business architect, IONA, how to deploy SOA in an incremental manner and the economic and technical benefits to this approach.

On September 21, October 12 and November 9, 2005, IONA offers "Extend the Value of Your Existing Assets with SOA: Leveraging Existing Mainframe, EAI and Homegrown Solutions." Presented by Eric Newcomer, CTO, IONA and Ivan Casanova, director of product management, IONA, this Webcast explains how IONA can help avoid a "rip and replace" approach to SOA and extend the value of legacy systems by exposing homegrown, EAI and mainframe applications as service-enabled participants in SOA without requiring expensive adaptors and restrictive stack solutions.

On September 28, October 19 and November 16, 2005, IONA presents "Integrating Service Delivery Platforms with Legacy OSS/BSS: Speeding the Introduction of Telecom Triple Play with SOA." IONA Director of Product Marketing Pat Walsh and Senior Product Marketing Manager Jody Hunt discuss how the convergence of telecommunications services based on IP-based networks is driven by the need to offer new revenue generating services while cutting operating expenses. The Webcast also covers how carriers can effectively integrate supporting BSS/OSS layers with the Service Delivery Platforms that are used to streamline service infrastructures using ESB and SOA.

All Webcasts as part of this series begin at 12:00 pm EST.
