Business Wire, Sept 7, 2005
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- Clearswift, the MIMEsweeper(TM) Company and world leader in content security, and Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management solutions that protect against viruses, Trojans, spyware, spam and hacker attacks, announced today that Kaspersky Lab will now provide anti-virus protection for Clearswift's new MIMEsweeper SMTP Appliance. As a result of this partnership, Clearswift's appliance customers will have Kaspersky Lab's award-winning anti-virus protection as a part of their overall network security system. In addition to Kaspersky Anti-Virus technology, the MIMEsweeper SMTP Appliance comes equipped with the company's content security MIMEsweeper engine, and a new anti-spam solution developed by Clearswift, as well as MIMEsweeper's default e-mail security policy. The Kaspersky Anti-Virus engine will be integrated directly into the MIMEsweeper SMTP Appliance, and Clearswift's existing and new appliance customers will have seamless access to Kaspersky Lab's anti-virus and anti-spyware protection.
The MIMEsweeper SMTP Appliance also offers Web-based management, quarantine areas, reporting, and delegated administration capabilities. Administrators can update the operating system and application software, and take advantage of fully automated updates for anti-spam, anti-virus, anti-spyware and managed lists. It also incorporates the award-winning content security functionality that has long been a standard in Clearswift's software solutions, which is designed to reduce IT operational and management burdens and ensure control over enterprise content policies.
"We are pleased to partner with Kaspersky Lab and provide our customers with best-of-breed malware protection," said Alyn Hockey, technical director of Clearswift. "When combined with our powerful MIMEsweeper engine and our anti-spam technology, Kaspersky Anti-Virus helps provide our customers with complete protection against incoming and outgoing content security threats. The Kaspersky Anti-Virus engine not only provides superior anti-virus defense but also industry-leading anti-spyware protection. Additionally, it allows us to deliver the same types of features and functionality in an anti-virus solution that our customers have come to expect from our anti-spam and content filtering technologies. Our pre-loaded appliance provides organizations with plug-and-play deployment, quick, automatic updates, and consistent management of enterprise security policies. It is also the only appliance to protect all inbound and outbound traffic to enable comprehensive Enterprise Content Governance."
Kaspersky Anti-Virus provides reliable protection for all network elements, including workstations, file servers, Web servers, proxy servers, and includes firewalls, mail and content-filtering systems. Kaspersky Lab is unmatched in the speed that it disarms even the most sophisticated new attacks and releases anti-virus signatures. Database updates are issued every hour and urgent updates are on average released as quickly as 30 minutes after the detection of new threats.
"Our anti-virus engine is recognized as the most advanced and sophisticated protection solution available on the market," said Vitaly Bezrodnykh, business development director at Kaspersky Lab. "Clearswift is well known for its content security software, and we are delighted to be selected as the exclusive provider of anti-virus protection for the company's MIMEsweeper SMTP Appliance.
