Genesis Microchip Selects Catalytic RMS to Streamline Algorithm Development for Image Processing Systems
Business Wire, Sept 7, 2005
PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Catalytic Inc., a software provider creating tools that shorten signal processing design time, today announced that Genesis(R) Microchip Inc., a world leader in the development of image processing technologies for flat-panel monitors, TVs and other consumer display products, has selected Catalytic RMS to simplify the design flow for its image processing solutions.
Catalytic RMS (Rapid MATLAB(R) Simulator) works seamlessly with MATLAB from The MathWorks to provide fast floating-point simulation for MATLAB code, accurate fixed-point modeling capabilities, and fast fixed-point simulation. The result is a streamlined algorithm design process that accelerates MATLAB simulation and helps convert floating-point MATLAB to optimized fixed-point MATLAB, which accurately models the behavior of the final RTL and embedded software implementation.
"We chose Catalytic because it addresses our need to quickly achieve rapid simulation speeds for functions written in MATLAB and use them throughout the design cycle," said Xu Dong, chief technology officer at Genesis Microchip. "We believe that Catalytic RMS will help optimize our algorithm design process."
"Genesis Microchip has the reputation of offering best-in-class imaging processing solutions," said Randy Allen, CEO and founder of Catalytic Inc. "We are very pleased to have been selected by Genesis to help streamline the development of their controller products."
