PCTEL Hires Telecom Executive to Head Business Development; Jim Giacobazzi Joins PCTEL

CHICAGO -- PCTEL, Inc. (Nasdaq:PCTI), a leader in broadband wireless solutions, recently appointed Jim Giacobazzi as Vice President, Business Development and Strategy. In that capacity, Mr. Giacobazzi will drive global manufacturing and the development of network optimization solutions.
Prior to joining PCTEL, Mr. Giacobazzi held senior positions at Andrew Corporation, Motorola, and Comsat RSI. Giacobazzi is a 20 year wireless communications veteran with deep experience in manufacturing, product design, and marketing. While at Andrew, Giacobazzi had global responsibility for the Base Station Antenna and Microwave Antenna Product Divisions.

PCTEL recently acquired Sigma Wireless Technologies, a leader in the design and development of remotely-controlled, tiltable antennas for UMTS networks. The acquisition, which was completed in early July, was PCTEL's fifth acquisition in three years. In addition to Sigma Wireless Technologies, PCTEL acquired CyberPixie (2002), Dynamic Telecommunications (2003), Maxrad (2004) and several product lines from Andrew Corporation (2004). The company has grown from less than $1 million in quarterly wireless revenues to just over $18 million last quarter.
