Swiss Medica Announces Support for Hurricane Katrina Relief Effort Through Donations to Red Cross Throughout September; Swiss Medica Challenges All Other Consumer Health Care Companies to Make Contributions to the Relief Effort
Business Wire, Sept 8, 2005
TORONTO -- Swiss Medica Inc. today announced that it will be donating a percentage of revenue from sales of its flagship product -- O24 Pain Neutralizer(TM) -- to the American Red Cross throughout the month of September to support the on-going relief effort for victims of Hurricane Katrina.
"Our company has always been dedicated to helping relieve pain and suffering," said Swiss Medica President Grant Johnson in announcing the donation. "We were deeply moved by the stark plight of Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana residents in the aftermath of this unprecedented natural disaster and wanted to do something tangible to help. We challenge all other consumer health care companies to make a similar commitment."
The company said that for every 1 oz. bottle and 20-count package of O24 Pain Neutralizer(TM) sold at retail stores to end-consumers in September, Swiss Medica will donate 50 cents to the American Red Cross -- and for every six-pack sold, the company will donate 20 cents.
