Panda Restaurant Group Commits $500,000 to Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts; Panda Express, Panda Inn and Hibachi-San Restaurants Support the American Red Cross with 50 Percent of Chicken Egg Roll and Veggie Spring Roll Sales

WHAT: Panda Restaurant Group, parent company of Panda Express, Panda
Inn and Hibachi-San, has collectively pledged $500,000 for
Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. The company is generating
these funds through four outreach programs, including a
restaurant fundraiser through which 50 percent of all Chicken
Egg Roll and Veggie Spring Roll sales will be donated from
Sept. 10 through Sept. 16. The $200,000 target amount that the
company hopes to raise from this program will be donated to the
American Red Cross.
The Panda Express location at the Riverwalk Marketplace in New
Orleans has been damaged and closed. "The survivors of
Hurricane Katrina are in our hearts and prayers," said Peggy
Cherng, CEO and co-chair. "We feel fortunate that our
associates in the affected areas are reported to be safe, and
we are determined to do what we can to support everyone who has
been impacted."
