WorldWater & Power Corp. Provides Installation to Inaugurate New Solar System at DuPont
Business Wire, April 11, 2006
PENNINGTON, N.J. -- WorldWater & Power Corp. (OTCBB:WWAT.OB), developer and marketer of proprietary high-power solar systems, announced that its Chairman, Quentin T. Kelly, participated today at the inauguration of DuPont's new solar energy program, featuring a system designed and installed by WorldWater, at DuPont's Chestnut Run facility in Wilmington, Del. Leading the inaugural event were DuPont Chairman and CEO Charles O. Holliday, Jr. and Delaware Governor Ruth Ann Minner.
The 40 Kilowatt solar system, DuPont's solar generated electricity at one of its facilities, will convert the sun's energy into electricity for an R&D and business building at the site.
"As one of the earliest pioneers in practical solar powered solutions we are naturally proud that our 25 year effort has led to our participation in this leading edge project," Mr. Kelly said. "Moreover, to be involved with a world innovator in science like DuPont is a high distinction for our company."
DuPont offers the broadest portfolio in the market, with eight essential products. In addition to three sites in the U.S., the company is conducting research on solar energy in the U.K., Switzerland, China and Japan. DuPont has made a corporate commitment to have at least 10 percent of its power produced by renewable energy sources by 2010, some of which will be supplied through solar panel technology. Today, over five percent of its power is produced by renewable energy sources. Solar panels convert light into electrical energy through the use of photovoltaic solar cells. The cell assemblies are encapsulated into water-resistant panels for protection from moisture and impact.
WorldWater & Power Corporation is a leader in solar electric engineering, water management solutions and solar installations and products. Its high-powered, patented solar technology is at work in over 20 countries around the world. In the US, it provides solar electric, water pumping and purification technology to agribusinesses, industries, schools, communities, homeowners and emergency responders. The company is responsible for major breakthroughs in solar power technology and holds numerous solar-related patents.
