UNICAST BY VIEWPOINT POWERS FIRST CLICK-TO-FULL-SCREEN AD FOR HONDA; FULLY EXPANDABLE VIDEO AD NOW PLAYING ON MSN
Unicast, the advertising division of Viewpoint Corporation (NASDAQ: VWPT), a leading internet marketing technology company, today announced that Honda and MSN have launched the industry's first click-to-full screen video ad, powered by Viewpoint technology. The ad can be viewed at: http://staging.viewpoint.com/staging/honda/odyssey/. (For best viewing experience, click on "Full Screen Video" at bottom of ad.)
The ad, created jointly by Unicast and RPA, Honda's advertising agency, features the 2006 Honda Odyssey and is currently live on the MSN Autos web page. Users who wish to view the video can click directly on the advertisement to launch the full screen version of the video within the user's browser. The Honda advertisement is the first ever rich media ad that allows users to click on the ad to open a full screen video.
"Marketers are looking for better ways to connect with their target audience on the web, and the more interactive that connection is, the more users will remember it," said Patrick Vogt, CEO of Viewpoint. "The Honda ad is another example of how technology, when artfully integrated into a rich media campaign, can change the dynamics of how users engage with a brand. With consumers demanding a richer experience on the web, leveraging technology to engage with users is a critical element to a marketer's success."
"When we advertise online, it's a great opportunity to reach our audience in a unique way," said Jenny Howell, Manager of Interactive Marketing at Honda. "With the click-to-full screen ad, Viewpoint technology has created the opportunity for us to provide a visually powerful way to showcase our products while allowing users to enjoy and control the experience."
"Advertisers are increasingly realizing that online video advertising is one of the most effective ways to engage users and enhance their brand presence online," said Meridee Alter, senior V.P., media director at RPA. "Given Unicast's history of pioneering new ways of using rich media, the Unicast ad platform powered by Viewpoint technology was a good choice for partnering on this campaign."
