Verizon Wireless' Commitment to Customer Satisfaction in Georgia Recognized in Recent J.D. Power and Associates Study'; Latest in Long Line of Customer Satisfaction Accolades
Business Wire, April 19, 2006
ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- Verizon Wireless' commitment to delivering a positive wireless experience to its 51.3 million customers has been recognized once again. In the J.D. Power and Associates 2006 U.S. Wireless Regional Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) Study(SM) - Volume 1 released today, Verizon Wireless shared highest honors for overall satisfaction among wireless telephone users in the Southeast region that includes the state of Georgia.
Based on responses from 22,871 wireless subscribers, the J.D. Power and Associates study measures customer satisfaction relative to 42 specific service-related measures grouped into six key factors that impact overall wireless carrier performance: call performance and reliability, customer service, service plan options, brand image, cost of service, and billing. Verizon Wireless received five J.D. Power and Associates awards in this year's study, sharing highest honors in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, North Central, Southeast, and West regions.
"We believe that our consistent, strong growth and top placements in third-party studies are the direct result of our philosophy of putting customers first," said Region President Jim McGean for Verizon Wireless. "We have invested consistently in our network - the nation's most reliable - and in our outstanding customer service team to provide the positive experiences that build customer satisfaction and loyalty to Verizon Wireless."
Verizon Wireless owns and operates the nation's most reliable wireless network and is the wireless leader in customer loyalty. Throughout 2005, Verizon Wireless had the industry's lowest customer churn rate - the percentage of customers who disconnect their service -- an important indicator of customer loyalty. Verizon Wireless has also received awards for its customer service nationally and locally including:
--Named the "Leader in Customer Satisfaction" after scoring highest in overall Caller Satisfaction and single Call Completion by Vocal Laboratories in January 2006
--Ranked highest among U.S. wireless service providers for customer satisfaction in the 2005 American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) for the second consecutive year.
--Ranked in the top spot in the wireless phone service category in Brandweek magazine's 2005 Brand Keys Customer Loyalty Index(R).
