Classic Sport Selects SPS Commerce's Software as a Service Offering as Its Exclusive EDI Solution; Sporting Goods Vendor Consolidates All EDI Operations from a Handful of EDI Systems to SPS' Web and Integrated Services

Business Wire, April 19, 2006

MINNEAPOLIS -- SPS Commerce, the leading Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), announced today that Classic Sport, a leading manufacturer of equipment for team sports and recreational table games, has selected SPS Commerce as Classic Sport's exclusive EDI solution to connect with all of its major trading partners. Classic Sport will also utilize SPS Commerce's professional team to implement a variety of future global trading partners onto its system. After using a handful of EDI software systems and services to accommodate various retail customers, Classic Sport decided it needed to consolidate onto a single system for all of their EDI needs. Faced with needing to hire additional staff to manage their EDI maps, Classic Sport decided to outsource its EDI operations entirely to SPS Commerce. The company plans to complete their migration to SPS Commerce's service by July.

"One of my first projects after joining Classic Sport last fall was to evaluate our internal resources necessary to manage our daily EDI operations," said John Swanwick, EDI Manager at Classic Sport. "We weren't unlike most suppliers. Classic used many EDI applications to connect with various retailers, each requiring a unique mapping tool. The bottom line was that Classic either needed more resources committed to EDI mapping, or we needed to outsource. We selected SPS Commerce's web and integrated EDI services."

Used by more than 11,000 subscribers daily, SPS' SaaS solution for EDI will eliminate the need for Classic Sport to purchase, maintain and staff an EDI system or department internally. SPS Commerce's service includes the hardware, software, staffing, monitoring, operational support and vendor call center required to support Classic Sport's EDI operations externally. The SaaS solution processes more than 2.5 million transactions monthly for SPS' subscribers.

"When looking for our EDI solution, SPS stood apart from its competitors for two primary reasons," stated Swanwick. "First, we'd had experience with their service and knew it was easy-to-use, reliable and had the required capabilities for our trading partner EDI requirements. Secondly, their customer support and attention to our business was unbelievable. From our initial discussions to a visit to their data center to implementation, SPS' professionals have demonstrated a superior knowledge of EDI, the supply chain process and shown that Classic Sport's satisfaction is important to their business."

"We are pleased to welcome Classic Sport to our community," said Archie Black, chief executive officer of SPS Commerce. "As a SaaS offering, SPS Commerce can quickly consolidate all of Classic Sport's EDI transactions onto a single system managed by our team of EDI and IT experts. Having worked with numerous sporting goods retailers, we are very familiar with the EDI requirements of Classic's trading partners and look forward to being their sole EDI service for years to come."
