SafeNet to Demonstrate the World's First Video Feed Secured at Layer 2 over Simulated Metro Ethernet Utilizing New Line of Ethernet Encryptors at Interop 2006

Business Wire, April 20, 2006

BALTIMORE -- SafeNet, Inc. (NASDAQ:SFNT), setting the standard for information security, today announced they will be launching their new line of Ethernet Encryptors to secure Metro Ethernet at Interop 2006. In booth #705, SafeNet will have two demonstrations: a fiber wire tap to make evident the vulnerability of a traditional fiber line; and the world's first encrypted video feed secured at Layer 2 over simulated Metro Ethernet using its new line of Ethernet Encryptors. Interop is being held Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada from April 30-May 5, 2006.

Increasingly, the world's leading enterprises are now relying on high-speed Metro Ethernet for their business communications, operations and continuity. According to a report published by Infonetics Research, worldwide Metro Ethernet equipment revenue nearly doubled between 2004 and 2005, from $2.6 billion to over $4.9 billion, and is expected to triple to $15.5 billion by 2009. A single disruption or malicious attack against these services can cause businesses to lose millions of dollars while increasing the chance of incurring significant legal liability.

SafeNet's Vice President and General Manager of the Data Protection Business Unit, Andy Solterbeck, will be available to discuss:

--Rapid adoption of Metro Ethernet

--Ethernet Encryptors' relevancy in the market

--Security Trends in the Networking industry
