LAS VEGAS -- For the eighth consecutive year, the Risk Management Unit of CNA insurance companies presented its Safety in Excellence Award to Fresenius Medical Care North America, the North American subsidiary of Fresenius Medical Care AG & Co. KGaA. CNA's award recognizes a company's national leadership and dedicated commitment to employee health, safety, and loss prevention. For eight consecutive years, Fresenius has demonstrated significant reductions in employee injury rates.

The award was presented by Ron Murtlow, CNA's vice president of Risk Management, during a small ceremony in Las Vegas, NV.

"This was an especially significant year for Fresenius Medical Care North America," said Murtlow. "Not only does it mark the eighth consecutive year that Fresenius Medical Care North America has received our Safety in Excellence Award, but it marks their best reduction of their most serious employee injuries as compared to each of the prior seven years."

Larry Park, Fresenius' vice president of Health, Safety, Environmental Affairs, Engineering and Risk Management, will receive the award. Park commented, "Without the dedicated efforts of all of our employees, this award would not be possible. Through their contributions, the entire company has been honored in the area of health and safety."
