Mr. Keller will engage conference attendees in a discussion focused on Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN), a standard that is gaining wide acceptance, on Wednesday, April 26. On this same day, Siemens Power Generation will host a Special Interest Group (SIG) focused on ER/Studio, Embarcadero's powerful, multi-level modeling application solution.
About the Presentation: "Inside the BPMN: What OMG's Business Process Modeling Notation Is and Is Not to Data Management"
In 2005, the Object Management Group absorbed the Business Process Modeling Initiative's BPMN notation as a means to expand business process modeling and process execution to wider audiences. The standard is gaining wide acceptance in various communities such as application development, workflow execution and Services Oriented Architecture communities. Mr. Keller will discuss what the BPMN is vis a vis traditional process notations, the promise it holds for integrating various IT and business stakeholders, and further what it is not designed to do from the vantage point of a data management professional. Greg Keller brings over 12 years of experience in the development of data, application, and process modeling technologies and products. He oversees the development and execution of Embarcadero's technology strategy. Prior to joining Embarcadero, Greg served in key sales and product evangelism positions at Popkin Software for the System Architect family of products. Greg is regularly a featured panelist in data modeling and metadata management conferences, and is a regular contributor to various data modeling columns and discussion groups. Greg earned his BA from Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship.
Bruce Baum
Bruce Baum is the Global Data Architect for Siemens Power Generation, and has primary responsibilities to establish an Information Architecture framework for its globally-distributed software development teams. He has over 25 years of experience in the software industry, including roles as IT Architect with IBM Global Services, Manager and Lead Architect of Authorization Systems at MasterCard International, and Systems Analyst at NCR Corporation. Bruce is currently focused on strategic initiatives in the areas of data stewardship, data quality, data integration and metadata.
