FrontRange Releases Refined iHEAT™; Latest Version of Remote-Access Product for HEAT® Service Management Tools Offers Users Refinements That Increase Ease of Use, Tighten Security and Reduce Total Cost of Ownership
Business Wire, April 3, 2006
DUBLIN, Calif. -- FrontRange Solutions, a global leader in IT Service Management, Voice Application, and CRM solutions for small to mid-sized enterprises (SME) and distributed enterprises, announced today general availability of the latest version of its iHEAT(TM) remote-access product for its award-winning HEAT(R) Product Suite. FrontRange(TM) iHEAT 8.3.7 offers HEAT users refined capabilities that increase ease of use, tighten security measures and reduce the total cost of ownership of their service management tools.
The latest version of iHEAT includes these new features and benefits:
--iHEAT 8.3.7 allows users to use a Universal Print Driver for printing to local client printers.
--Proxy tunneling allows iHEAT to transmit data through Port 443 via the HTTPS CONNECT method (also referred to as SSL tunneling or HTTPS tunneling.) This allows a remote user who accesses the Internet via a Web proxy server to connect securely to iHEAT Servers.
--iHEAT supports Microsoft's Group Policy and its extensions. This means systems administrators can manage registry-based policy, assign scripts, redirect folders, manage applications, and specify security options.
--Systems administrators may install the iHEAT Server on to Windows XP Service Pack 2, which enables organizations to lower their cost of ownership in many cases.
iHEAT is part of the FrontRange award-winning HEAT Product Suite line of service management tools. Most recently HEAT was selected by ISM Inc., Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Real-Time Enterprise strategic advisors, for a Top 15 CRM Small & Medium Business Software Award for 2006. This is the third consecutive time HEAT was named a winner. The Top 15 selections are featured in ISM's 14th edition of The Guide to CRM Automation and in a Top 15 CD available at (www.ismguide.com).
HEAT is also verified by Pink Elephant as supporting the following ITIL(R) processes: Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management and Configuration Management.
"iHEAT is a great way for customers to extend the same HEAT capability that gives organizations a low-cost, low-risk way of adopting ITIL processes and, thereby, achieve standardized processes that increase efficiency and lower service desk costs," said Lori Samolyk, FrontRange Senior Product Marketing Manager. "Since HEAT can be used for internal IT help desk or external customer support, this iHEAT release is a great fit for technicians who work remotely or are on-the-go."
