Altarum Institute Spins off New Company Focused on U.S. Federal Government Market: NewVectors LLC to Provide Consulting, Analysis to Defense, Civilian Agencies
Business Wire, April 3, 2006
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Altarum Institute today announced the creation of NewVectors, a limited liability corporation, providing independent research, consulting and analysis to the U.S. federal government community.
The new entity, comprised largely of Altarum's Enterprise Solutions Division, primarily serves non-health customers in the U.S. Department of Defense, but plans on expanding its reach into the civilian government community. Altarum, a non-profit entity, will retain a controlling interest in the new venture, a for-profit subsidiary.
Deane Stanley, formerly Senior Vice President of Altarum and President of Altarum's Enterprise Solutions Division, will take over as CEO of NewVectors. Mr. Stanley joined Altarum in May 2001, when the company acquired Vector Research, Inc., where he was a Vice President and Director of Defense Programs. Prior to joining Vector Research, he served 28 years in the U.S. Army, retiring in 1991 as a senior colonel.
"The creation of NewVectors provides us an unmatched opportunity to focus on our core business - providing strategic research and consulting services to the federal government," said Stanley. "The 150 employees of NewVectors are committed to providing government agencies the tools and techniques they need to transform their businesses into high-performance organizations, while at the same time managing risk. The transition to the new company will be seamless, and our customers will continue to benefit from the same in-depth knowledge and expertise on which they have come to rely."
