HUPO and Nonlinear Launch the HUPO 5th Annual World Congress, Long Beach 2006 Website

Business Wire, April 4, 2006

NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE, England & MONTREAL, Quebec -- Nonlinear Dynamics Ltd, a leading provider of bioinformatics solutions, has today announced that it's collaboration with the Human Proteome Organisation (HUPO), has resulted in the successful development and launch of the HUPO 5th Annual World Congress website (www.hupo2006.com). The Congress itself is scheduled to run from October 28th through November 1st 2006, in Long Beach, CA.

Developed in close partnership between HUPO's international headquarters and Nonlinear's in-house web development team, the site contains a range of resources to manage Congress activities for organisers, exhibitors and attendees.

The launch of the site constitutes the latest progression in Nonlinear's collaboration to develop and support HUPO's online activities. This follows the re-launch of the HUPO international website (www.hupo.org) in August, 2005, which is also developed and maintained by Nonlinear's technical design team.

Dr. John Bergeron, President of HUPO, said, "This is a very exciting time for the Organisation and we have set out numerous strategic goals to achieve over the next 12 months. We are delighted to be able to call on Nonlinear's expertise in design and technology in re-configuring HUPO's online activity. This will play a central role in promoting direct online interaction with proteomics users, enabling them to access a range of scientific and educational materials for the first time. Likewise, we see it as an important tool in establishing and augmenting links with our industrial partners.

"The natural synergies of interest between HUPO and Nonlinear make them an obvious communications partner in reaching the life-sciences community. We feel this relationship has tremendous potential for further developments in the future."

John Spreadbury, Group Sales and Marketing Director at Nonlinear Dynamics and CEO of Nonlinear USA Inc., said, "We have been working with HUPO informally for some time now, and are pleased to offer our services in these strategic areas. Nonlinear's commercial activity allows us to provide applied experience in a range of 'new media' communications coupled with the technical knowledge of implementing and managing online campaigns targeted to scientists worldwide.

"Similarly, we are looking forward to interacting directly with HUPO's various proteome projects. Initially, this will include the Proteomics Standards Initiative, in which Nonlinear will be attending executive round table discussions in Montreal in July for the second consecutive year. In developing further links with HUPO's members through events such as this, it provides insight to enable us to continue to develop leading analysis solutions to meet the needs of proteomics users worldwide."
