Trango Broadband Wireless Offers HD Mesh™ Hi-Speed Video and Data Network Solutions for Security Applications
Business Wire, April 5, 2006
SAN DIEGO -- Trango Broadband Wireless, a leading manufacturer of fixed broadband wireless equipment, announces its hi-speed HD Mesh(TM) system configurable for a wide variety of remote video and data applications in the interest of homeland security. Trango's wireless HD Mesh(TM) can be utilized for security related applications including nuclear power plants, airports, port districts, military bases, water treatment facilities, railroads, etc.
The system operates as a self-healing, hi-performance backbone ring capable of 45 Mbps. It is available in multiple frequency bands, including the public safety and first responder 4.9 GHz licensed band and the 5.3, 5.4 and 5.8 GHz unlicensed bands.
It is designed for maximum performance and ease-of-installation and maintenance, while allowing for flexibility and scalability to grow with the needs of a particular network. The system provides robust video and data throughput beyond standard WiFi-only mesh networks. For example, each micro-cell can provide WiFi coverage as well as support point-to-multipoint 2.4 GHz, 900 MHz, 5.3 GHz, and 5.8 GHz.
Each HD Mesh(TM) micro-cell base station includes an environmentally controlled enclosure which houses a router and supports up to six additional Ethernet devices (cameras, access points, etc.). The system also supports WiMAX-ready radios and 802.11g for WiFi hotspots. It includes support for Layer 3 functionality such as QoS, VLAN, NAT, DHCP and PPPoE, as well as OSPF and BGP self-healing routing protocols.
Trango's HD Mesh(TM) system is superior to other mesh solutions in that it is designed to focus the fail-safe functions at the most important element of the network -- the backbone. Maintaining a robust, hi-speed, self-healing and redundant mesh backbone is the most critical aspect of the network. And when combined with Trango's market-proven broadband radios, system performance and reliability is now possible at a level unsurpassed by competing technologies.
