SilverBack Supports Cisco IP Telephony Products
Business Wire, August 1, 2006
BILLERICA, Mass. -- To support managed service providers (MSPs) with their IP telephony installations SilverBack Technologies announced today that it supports a family of Cisco IP telephony solutions. SilverBack products now directly monitor Cisco's CallManager and Unity products to detect IP telephony faults, plus they monitor and help remediate fault, performance, and security issues in the underlying servers and network infrastructure. This new capability is available to SilverBack partners in the form of an add-on set of monitoring policies. SilverBack Technologies is the industry's leading provider of service-delivery platforms that allow IT service providers to profitably enter the managed services business.
Cisco-certified MSPs who resell and maintain Cisco IP telephony products can use the SilverBack platform to proactively conduct daily monitoring and reporting on their customer installations. The benefits for their customers include higher availability and performance for their critical voice systems, call centers, voice-to-email messaging, and related applications.
Atrion Networking Corporation of Providence, Rhode Island, a SilverBack MSP partner, has been designing and implementing Cisco IP telephony solutions for over five years and has recently received an Advance Cisco certification, known as the Cisco Partner Voice Service Offering. PVSO certification allows Atrion to plan, design, implement and support Cisco's best-in-class IP telephony products.
As a forward-thinking service provider, it's important for Atrion to provide managed services for mission-critical applications such as IP telephony and unified messaging.
"The SilverBack solution allows us to manage and maintain these sensitive, complex, and mission-critical applications as well as the underlying systems and networking equipment," said Tim Hebert, Atrion COO. "Our customers demand maximum efficiency with minimum to zero downtime on a 24/7 basis, and we rely on SilverBack to help deliver that."
Specifically, SilverBack will support the following Cisco IP telephony products:
--Cisco CallManager Unified CallManager: the call-processing component of the Cisco IP communications system.
--Cisco Unity: provides unified messaging (email, voice, and fax messages sent to one inbox) and intelligent voicemail.
--Cisco Unified Contact Center Express: a contact-center-in-a-box solution for one to 300 call center agents.
"Cisco telephony solutions are important for reducing business costs and improving customer responsiveness," said Jonathan Wolf, VP of Product Marketing for SilverBack. "These Cisco telephony products are ideal for MSPs who wish to deliver interactive voice response applications and computer telephony integration to their customers. With MSP partners like Atrion, end users will have peace of mind knowing these applications are being actively maintained by the minute."
