Lanier Introduces Cost-Effective Digital Color MFP Designed for Small Workgroups; LD215cg Features Innovative Gel Ink Technology for High-Quality Color Output
Business Wire, August 14, 2006
ATLANTA -- Lanier Worldwide, Inc. today launched the Lanier LD215cg, a digital multifunction product (MFP) that uses innovative gel ink technology to deliver affordable, high-quality color copying and printing, along with advanced scanning and faxing, for small workgroup environments. The system will be available immediately.
"For many small offices and workgroups, stepping up to a full-color digital MFP is cost-prohibitive," said Dominic Pontrelli, vice president of Marketing for Lanier. "The LD215cg offers a more affordable solution. It incorporates innovative gel ink technology to deliver laser-like color for digital copying and printing with significantly lower per-page costs than a typical inkjet system."
The LD215cg uses pigment-based ink suspended in a viscous gel that bonds with paper just like toner. The gel dries immediately on contact with air, which eliminates smudging. The ink does not run if it gets wet, and also resists fading after exposure to sun.
"This system is also unique because of its large-size paper handling," Pontrelli said. "It accepts 11" x 17" originals for copying, and prints on paper sizes up to 12" x 18". This is ideal for drawings, large charts, and color-coded spreadsheets."
The LD215cg offers digital copying and network printing, delivering up to 6 pages per minute (ppm) for full-color documents and up to 15 ppm for black-and-white documents. The system scans up to 42 monochrome or 13 color pages per minute, and has an optional fax module.
