Echopass and SecureAlert Make Society More Safe and Secure Through Electronic Monitoring and Tracking
Business Wire, August 15, 2006
PLEASANTON, Calif. -- Echopass provides on-demand, hosted solution for SecureAlert's state-of-the-art TrackerPAL(TM) Monitoring Center; "Always On" guarantee ensures individuals are tracked and located in real time anytime, anywhere
Echopass Corporation, the experts in always-on, on-demand, hosted contact center and CRM solutions, today announced its growing relationship with SecureAlert, a division of RemoteMDx(TM) and a leading provider of electronic monitoring and Personal Emergency Response Systems (PERS). SecureAlert selected Echopass to host its TrackerPAL Monitoring Center, which serves as the company's core infrastructure for monitoring, tracking and locating individuals in life or death healthcare situations or those on parole or probation. The Echopass EchoSystem(TM) Service Integration Platform securely and reliably connects SecureAlert monitoring center operators to their end users by using the industry's best services, technologies and capabilities available under a single point of management -- a critical factor for each SecureAlert operator who is responsible for up to 300 people and monitoring devices.
"We first considered purchasing on-premise call center hardware and software, but quickly realized that an outsourced solution is a much better way to go due to our lack of expertise in this area," said Randy Olshen, president of SecureAlert. "After evaluating various hosted solutions, Echopass was hands down the clear choice, due to their reliability, security, scaleability, interoperability, easy deployment, depth and breadth of product/service offerings, and all around best practices. Guaranteed service 24/7/365 is absolutely critical to our business, and Echopass was the only vendor in a position to deliver this for us. "
Rapid Deployment, Deep Integration, Guaranteed Uptime
SecureAlert and Echopass' professional services team were able to deploy the TrackerPAL Monitoring Center within two months. This included overcoming the difficult task of integrating into SecureAlert's existing IT infrastructure and sophisticated circuit based mobile network -- comprised of both a global positioning system (GPS) and cellular technology. As a result, SecureAlert operators in the monitoring center can accurately track and monitor individuals in real time wearing the following cutting edge devices:
--MobilePAL(TM) -- an easy-to-use device for emergency situations or concierge services that connects customers 24/7 to their own personal assistant (e.g., family member, roadside service provider, physician) with the push of a button.
--TrackerPAL -- an ankle device designed to enable authorities to continuously track and monitor the whereabouts of select individuals on parole or probation. TrackerPAL also includes access to a highly secure website that Echopass seamlessly integrated into its call center, so officers can communicate immediately with subjects and modify and view restrictions anytime, anywhere via the Internet.
"We're the first and only company to combine GPS, cellular technology and a central processing unit (CPU) into one device for simultaneous transmission, receipt and processing of information," continues Olshen. "Echopass successfully integrated our technological innovations with their own robust call center framework to significantly increase our functionality and performance. So, in addition to the impressive outbound communications service, there is also an inbound communications option for offenders using TrackerPAL. As a result, those required to call in prior to a meeting, or report to an agent, can do so via the ankle device. Conversations are recorded, filed and stored appropriately in compliance with government regulations. All of this is seamlessly handled by Echopass."
Future Growth, High Scaleability
By year-end, SecureAlert expects to have 20,000 of their tracking and monitoring units deployed in the United States, and anticipates significant growth throughout 2007. This rapid growth strategy is in large part made possible by Echopass' highly scaleable platform design and on-demand delivery model. SecureAlert also plans to leverage additional reporting features and capabilities offered by Echopass' platform.
"SecureAlert is a prime example of how we deliver our promise of guaranteed, always-on service," said Vincent Deschamps, CEO of Echopass. "We fully understand that their monitoring center operators deal with life and death situations and the safety of citizens, which is why we're so engrained in their business, their technology and hosting their infrastructure. Also, since our on-demand platform is built to accommodate rapid scaleability, we're looking forward to helping them grow in the future."
